RxSaveCard

Weight loss GLP-1 prescriptions will no longer be administered through Express Scripts. Effective January 1, 2027, prescriptions for GLP-1s for weight loss will be administered through a program called RxSaveCard. RxSaveCard is a digital debit card that gives you access to eligible weight loss medications (GLP-1s) for a fixed monthly copay of $10 per month. Only certain pharmacies are included, and you will receive an email with more program details including how to sign up to participate. Please note, this program is for weight loss GLP-1s only, not for diabetes management GLP-1s.

Some highlights of the program:
  • Medications will be filled with monthly prescriptions starting January 1, 2027 (you will need to get a new prescription from your doctor).
  • Employees only pay the fixed $10 per month copay.
  • RxSaveCard is digital debit card only; members will not receive a physical card.
  • Medications will be delivered to your home.
  • Covered medications include: Foundayo: pill, Wegovy: pen and pill, and Zepbound: Kwikpen and vial.
  • The covered medications can be obtained from the following pharmacies:
    • Amazon Pharmacy: Zepbound Kwikpen, WeGovy pen or pill, Foundayo pill
    • LillyDirect: Zepbound Kwikpen or vials
    • NovoCare: WeGovy pen or pill
  • Any other GLP-1 weight loss medication (not listed) would be paid 100% out of pocket by the member.
Below is more detailed information on how the program works.

HOW TO GET STARTED
  1. Talk to your provider.
    • Grandfathered utilizers (those with a weight loss GLP-1 prescription before 1/1/2027) -
      • Members with a GLP-1 weight loss medication prescription through Express Scripts are grandfathered into this program and do not have to repeat prior authorizations or BMI verification. If your current medication is different from those listed above, discuss whether any of the covered GLP-1 treatments are right for you and which medication and pharmacy option fits your prescription. Note: Any other GLP-1 weight loss medication (not listed) would be paid 100% out of pocket by the member.
    • Program eligibility for new members utilizers (those requesting a weight loss GLP-1 prescription after 1/1/2027) -
      1. Discuss with your provider whether any of the covered GLP-1 treatments are right for you and which medication and pharmacy option fits your prescription.
      2. Get documentation. Request documentation from your provider that includes your BMI, name, date, and provider’s signature.
      3. Submit BMI verification. Log into your member dashboard, locate the “GLP-1s for Weight Loss” program section, and click “Upload Documentation” to follow the form instructions.
  2. Receive a prescription confirmation. After your provider sends your prescription, you will receive an email or text confirmation from the pharmacy within 24-48 hours with next steps to complete your order. Note: Your provider must send your prescription to the correct pharmacy (Amazon Pharmacy, LillyDirect, or NovoCare) based on your medication.
  3. Activate your RxSaveCard account (first time only).
  4. Identity confirmation from bank (first time only). RxSaveCards require a one-time identity verification from the bank. This typically takes about 15-20 minutes but may take several days and require uploading documentation if further validation is needed.
  5. Activate your card for GLP-1s (first time only). Click “Activate Card for GLP-1s” in your dashboard to finalize the processing of your debit card. It’s best to wait until your medication is almost ready for purchase at the pharmacy before activating. You will only have to activate your card once. Note: although the checkbox asks for confirmation that your prescription has been sent to the specified pharmacy prior to card activation, there is no problem with doing this ahead of time if you’re running low on your previous month’s fill.
PAYING FOR YOUR MONTHLY PRESCRIPTION
  1. Add funds. Before placing your order, log into your dashboard, click “Load Funds & View Card” and add your fixed $10 per month copay by personal debit/credit card (fees may apply, no processing time) or ACH (no fees, 2-3 days to process). At checkout, add your digital card details and billing zip code, then the Village’s contribution will be applied automatically to cover the rest. Important: Your monthly funds are “use it or lose it”. Before you add funds, please confirm that you will continue using the medication for that month. Added funds will not be rolled over to the following month.
  2. Authorize funds. Prior to each order, click “Authorize Funds for Purchase” in your dashboard. You will be prompted to enter the exact total cost (including additional equipment fees or taxes) of your medication listed on the pharmacy checkout page.
  3. Pay with your RxSaveCard. After confirming the exact total cost, click “View Card Details” and enter the card details at the pharmacy checkout (using the zip code you entered when activating your account). Note: Your RxSaveCard is virtual and only works for online orders with home delivery, not for in-store pickup, even if that option appears at checkout.
  4. Your medication is delivered to you!

WHAT TO EXPECT EACH MONTH
  • You always pay only your fixed copay per order ($10/month). Your employer contribution is calculated automatically based on your exact checkout total.
  • Medications are fulfilled via home delivery only. Please allow time for processing and shipping.
  • Return to your RxSaveCard dashboard every month to add your required personal funds before using it at checkout.
