Health and Human Services offers low-cost immunizations through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program for children 2 months to 18 years at Village Hall. This program provides vaccines to those who are uninsured, underinsured, or qualify for Medicaid. The cost for each vaccine is $20 for all communities, or free with Medicaid.
Practices and Philosophy
Our practice believes that children should receive all recommended vaccines on time. Vaccines are a safe and effective way to protect children’s health and wellness in our community. We provide the latest comfort techniques for children receiving immunizations.

Vision and Hearing Screenings are required yearly for 3-5-year-old children who attend a preschool or daycare in Illinois. Screenings are conducted by Illinois Department of Public Health certified audiovisual technicians from the Village of Hoffman Estates.

- Cost is $5 per screening.
Please Note: Screenings are not a substitute for a complete eye or ear exam by a doctor.

HHS offers the following vaccines Immunizations for adults 19 years and older:
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- Twinrix (Hepatitis A and B combined)
- Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis-whooping cough)
- Flu/High-Dose Flu
Health and Human Services now offers vaccines through the IDPH 317 Program for eligible adults who are 19 years and older.

Health Clinics are held at the Village Hall. HHS nurses provide blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar, iron, medication and nutritional consultation.

Tuberculosis skin testing is available at the Village Hall through the Department of Health and Human Services.
- The cost for this service is $20. All communities are welcome.
- Appointments are required. Call 847-781-4850.
Please note: TB tests are administered on Mondays and results are read on Wednesday.
To schedule an appointment for a TB skin test, please complete the TB Skin Testing Form in our NEW portal.

If you need a TB blood test, call Cook County Health at 708-687-7200 or call your local pharmacy.

Cholesterol Testing

The Hemoglobin A1C test is a simple finger stick to find out if you are at risk or have diabetes by measuring your average blood sugar levels over the past three months. Fasting is not required. The test takes 6 minutes, and the cost is only $20. To schedule an appointment, call 847-781-4850.

Health and Human Services loans out the following medical related equipment to Hoffman Estates Residents:
- Wheelchairs--$20 rental fee
- Walkers (with or without wheels) --$10 rental fee
- Crutches--$10 rental fee
- Canes--$10 rental fee
- Knee Scooter--$20 rental fee
- Reachers--$5 rental fee
Residents can have the equipment on loan for up to 8 weeks. The rental fee is non-refundable. Complete the Lending Closet Form and email with your driver's license to HHS@hoffmanestates.org. Please bring the completed Payment Authorization Form with you when picking up equipment. For more information, call 847-781-4850.
HHS does not loan out equipment to residents of other communities.

An engaging, interactive, and educational brain heath program for older adults. This class meets once a month at 10 a.m. Challenge and strengthen your brain through interactive activities designed at maintaining & enhancing cognitive function and memory.
Sponsored in part by the Cook County Public Health Department Building Healthy Communities Grant.

The Village of Hoffman Estates offers bone density screenings for adults at the Hoffman Estates Branch Library. The screening uses your wrist or finger and takes less than five minutes. You will receive a copy of your results and a consultation with a nurse.
