Welcome to The Business Licensing Information Page
Program Update – January 2026:
The Village is transitioning to a new online system for managing all Village transactions in January 2026. Please expect system downtime between January 16, 2026 – January 30, 2026. Contact the Clerk’s Office at 847-781-2625 or VillageClerk@vohe.org with any specific inquiries during this time.
2026 Business License renewals will be processed through the new system. Business owners will receive notice in March 2026 with instructions on how to renew and pay for 2026 licenses.
Please note that all business licenses are on a May 1 – April 30 term.
Business/General Premise License:
Applicants for Business or General Premise licenses are responsible for reviewing the Commercial Waste & Recycling Information and the False Alarm Ordinance. Click here to download the License Application* and Business Emergency Contact Form.
Home Based Business License:
To determine whether your home business complies with local regulations, please review our Municipal Code 8-11-4 . Click here to download the Application.
Raffle:
All raffles conducted in the Village for non profit organizations are required to obtain a license. Click here to download the raffle application and Municipal Code regarding raffles (aka "lotteries"). Raffle license fee is $1.
Solicitors:

Please call the Village Clerk's office at 847-781-2625 to determine your fees and the correct application for your licensing needs. Completed applications should be submitted to the Village Clerk's Office by mail, in person during regular business hours, or by email to VillageClerk@vohe.org
