Village Clerk's Office
The Village Clerk acts as custodian of the Village seal, and official keeper of the records for the Village of Hoffman Estates. The responsibilities of the Village Clerk are numerous and are defined by state and local statutes. These include record keeping; transcribing Board minutes; acting as deputy registrar for the Cook County Clerk; filing of all official documents with the county; publication of bid notices and presiding over bid openings; publication of all ordinances passed by the Village Board; licensing all businesses, including contractors and home occupations; the receiver of freedom of information tasks; and specific Village-related tasks, such as research. The Village Clerk's office also processes passport applications.
