Retirees 65+ and Medicare-Eligible
| 2027 OPEN ENROLLMENT PERIOD FOR PARTICIPATING MEDICARE-ELIGIBLE RETIREES: OCTOBER 12, 2026 - NOVEMBER 23, 2026 |
Medicare-eligible retirees currently enrolled in a Benistar supplement plan but would like to elect a different plan, or eligible retirees on a Village insurance plan that would like to enroll in a Benistar plan, can make their selections during the open enrollment period of October 12, 2026 through November 23, 2026 by contacting the Human Resources Management Department. You will also receive a letter in the mail from our insurance cooperative (IPBC) with more details about the Benistar plans. Additional plan details can be found in the 'Resources' section below. Please be aware that if you decide to cancel any of your Village insurance plans, you will not be able to re-enroll in that Village insurance plan in the future.
No action is required for retirees currently enrolled in a Benistar supplement plan or a Village insurance plan. All current selections will rollover to the 2027 plan year. Contact HRM at 847-781-2690 during the open enrollment period if you would like to make a change.
Benistar will conduct an optional virtual informational session where they will present and discuss the benefit options available and attendees can participate in a question-and-answer session following the presentation.

Please be advised, you must be 65 or older and actively enrolled in both Medicare Part A & B to qualify for this coverage. If you have questions about any of the Benistar plans, or would like to switch to one of the Medicare advantage plans, please contact Benistar at 800-236-4782, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
