2026 Updates for Employees
(NEW!) PLANSOURCE EMPLOYEE SELF-SERVICE PORTALAll benefit-eligible employees will complete their open enrollment selections within our new, easy-to-use, employee self-service portal, PlanSource! You will be able to submit your selections starting Monday, November 10th. Unfortunately, there will be no grace period after the November 23rd deadline, so we request that you log in and reach out to HRM with your questions ahead of the deadline.
To access your PlanSource employee self-service portal follow the simple instructions below.
- Go to https://benefits.plansource.com/.
- Your username is the first letter of your first name, the first 6 letters of your last name, and your employee ID number. For example, employee Sarah Anderson (employee ID: 10234), would have the following username: sanders10234.
- Your initial password is your date of birth in YYYYMMDD format. You will be prompted to create a new password. For example, with a birth date of January 7, 1968, your initial password would be 19680107.
(UPDATE!) FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT (FSAs) LIMITS
The IRS has released updated contribution limits for flexible spending accounts (FSAs).

(NEW!) COMMUTER BENEFITS
The Village of Hoffman Estates is offering eligible employees a new voluntary benefit in 2026. Commuter benefits allow you to contribute pre-tax dollars to pay for transit to-and-from work and work-related parking costs. Eligible modes of transportation include, but are not limited to, train, bus, and ridesharing options such as UberPOOL and Lyft Shared.

(REMINDER!) MAKING CHANGES TO YOUR 457(B) AND VAC ACCOUNTS
Want to enroll in or make changes to your 457(b) plan(s) or IMRF VAC? No need to wait until open enrollment!
- Visit the Retirement Savings page on our website and select the corresponding account listed in the menu.
- Download the enrollment or contribution change form and return it to the HRM department any time throughout the year.

General FAQs
Open enrollment is the time of the year to enroll/make changes to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, FSA, and commuter benefits. The choices you make during open enrollment will be effective starting January 1 of the following calendar year.
This year, open enrollment will take place from Monday, November 10 to Sunday, November 23, 2025.Yes. Whether you are making changes to your benefits or not, all benefit-eligible employees must log into PlanSource from any computer to confirm or update current benefits for 2026.
PlanSource is an online system that allows employees to view or update their current benefits selections for open enrollment or a qualifying life event.
To access your PlanSource employee self-service portal follow the simple instructions below.
- Go to https://benefits.plansource.com/.
- Your username is the first letter of your first name, the first 6 letters of your last name, and your employee ID number. For example, employee Sarah Anderson (employee ID: 10234), would have the following username: sanders10234.

You will be able to add or remove dependents by uploading the necessary information and documentation directly to PlanSource. All documents submitted will be reviewed by HRM for approval.
You will only receive new cards if you change medical plans. The new cards will be under the policy holder’s name.
Enrollment and changes to these plans can be made at any time throughout the year. Click here and select the 457b account you would like to enroll or change and follow the instructions listed, or log into your IMRF Member Access portal to download the VAC form and return the form(s) to HRM.
Yes. Open enrollment requires you to make benefits selections for the following calendar year.
The IPBC is the Village’s insurance cooperative that allows its members to offer various types of health, vision, and dental programs to employees. Employees enrolled in the Village’s insurance program may receive communication from the IPBC via mail or email with exclusive wellness program offers.
