Dementia Friendly Community
Hoffman Estates is a Dementia Friendly Community
In June 2025, the Village of Hoffman Estates was recognized as a Dementia Friendly Community by Dementia Friendly America. This designation reflects our commitment to fostering understanding, safety, and respect for individuals living with dementia, as well as their families and caregivers. You can learn more about the effort to become a certified Dementia Friendly Community by watching this short video.
Village employees have completed specialized training to recognize the signs and symptoms of dementia and respond effectively to individuals who may be experiencing cognitive challenges. A Dementia Friendly Community Committee has been formed to actively collaborate with local businesses and residents to extend this training and offer educational programs throughout the community.
