In what is thought to be the first of its kind in the U.S., Hoffman Estates Fire is hosting special needs residents from the area at our first Fully Involved Fire Academy. 

Attendees of the Academy learn about fire safety, forcing open doors, completing search and obstacle courses, go for rides in the rigs, go up in the ladder truck, do a live extrication demonstration and hit targets with the fire hose among other things.

This is a great experience for people of all abilities to experience the fire service. HEFD is partnered with the Northwest Special Recreation Association to create a memorable and educational experience..
