The Hoffman Estates Police Department is proud to continue the Shop With a Cop holiday tradition for 2025. During this annual event, HEPD personnel volunteer their time to be paired up with a child and shop with them at our local Target for holiday gifts for them and their families. These children and families are referred for the program through local schools, community centers, and through Police Department personnel.

In addition to helping children purchase gifts, this event provides an opportunity for the participants to become familiar with local police officers who chaperone them as they browse for gifts. The one-on-one time while shopping provides opportunities to show that police officers are individuals who have unique interests, goals, and families of their own, and that they are here to help.
