For more than two decades, the Hoffman Estates Police Department has been creating special holiday memories for local children through its Shop With a Cop program. What began as an opportunity to brighten the holiday season has become a meaningful tradition that brings children and police officers together in a fun and positive setting.

Early in December, children participating in the program will be paired with members of the Hoffman Estates Police Department for a special shopping experience. Each child will receive a gift card to shop for items for themselves and their loved ones. Following the shopping experience, the children and officers will gather for breakfast, games, crafts, and other activities.

While the shopping is certainly a highlight, the program is about much more. Shop With a Cop gives children an opportunity to interact with police officers in a relaxed, positive environment while creating memories that can last well beyond the holiday season.

Nominate a child in need for the Shop With A Cop program by emailing hepcf@vohe.org. A member of the Hoffman Estates Police Charitable Foundation will follow up with more information.
