HEFD Receives FEMA Grant for Cardiac Monitors

This summer, Hoffman Estates Fire completed the purchase of state-of-the-art cardiac monitors with an Assistance to Firefighters Grant from FEMA.

Due in no small part to the grant-writing efforts of FF/PM Peter Behnke, the Department received a grant in the amount of $640,000 to fund the purchase of 13 stryker LifePak 35 cardiac monitors. These monitors will likely be in service for the next 10 years and provide the very best of today's medical technology to our residents.

The LifePak 35's are currently on our apparatus and making a difference in the community. We hope you don't end up seeing them, but if you do, we are sure you'll be impressed.

The grant was funded through FEMA's Assistance to Firefighters Grants which funds critically needed resources to equip and train emergency personnel, enhance efficiencies and support community resilience.

Congrats to the Department and thanks Pete!
