Fiber-optic internet infrastructure is currently being installed by AT&T or their contractors in several residential areas of Hoffman Estates. This work is being permitted in accordance with a franchise agreement that allows AT&T to install, operate and maintain their data network within the publicly owned right-of-way. This project is not related to or sponsored by the Village of Hoffman Estates.

While most construction is taking place in rights-of-way, there are some cases where AT&T may need access to utility easements located along property lines, which can include areas in residential back yards. AT&T is responsible for restoring any area disturbed during construction.
