Spring hydrant flushing starts in April
Annual hydrant flushing is scheduled to begin the week of April 6, occurring between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. over a six-week period. This program ensures delivery of the best quality of water in the Village by circulating fresh water through the system and allowing for the inspection of fire hydrants.
Signs will be posted on days of planned hydrant flushing. Residents may notice temporary changes in water pressure or discoloration during or shortly after flushing in their area. Residents experiencing discolored water should run cold water from a faucet for several minutes until it clears. Avoid doing laundry during flushing periods, as sediment may stain light-colored clothing.
