As we settle into the winter season, the Code Enforcement Division would like to remind residents of the proper procedures for storing firewood outdoors in accordance with the Hoffman Estates Municipal Code.

Per the code, firewood storage is limited to a face cord, which is defined as a stack of firewood one course deep, four feet high by eight feet long. Additionally, please know that firewood may not be stored in the front yard or driveway of any residential property. Firewood storage is permitted in back and side yards.
