January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

Recognizing Cervical Cancer Awareness Month provides a great opportunity to learn about the importance of cervical cancer prevention and the benefits of HPV (human papilloma virus) vaccination. The immunization prevents over 90 percent of cancers caused by HPV and is most effective when given to adolescents between the ages of 11-12 years.

Health and Human Services offers vaccinations to those who qualify. Complete a vaccination request at portal.hoffmanestates.org. Learn more about HPV by visiting healthychildren.org.
