At its Oct. 20 meeting, the Village Board adopted Hoffman in Motion, a new multimodal transportation plan designed to shape the future of movement in Hoffman Estates. Built on the ideas and experiences of more than 1,000 stakeholders who participated during in-person events, and more who shared feedback online, this plan reflects the community’s vision for safer, smarter and more convenient travel.

Hoffman in Motion lays out a clear roadmap for investments in the Village’s transportation network. From updated infrastructure like dedicated bike lanes and upgraded intersections, to forward-thinking policies that expand transit accessibility, the plan offers practical, people-focused recommendations to help everyone get around with greater ease.

The Village started rolling out early initiatives, including forming a new Active Transportation Advisory Committee to guide implementation and the posting signage on all recommended bike routes. Major long-term improvements are also part of the plan, such as safety upgrades at 77 intersections and new side paths, bike lanes, and other enhancements along key corridors like Higgins Road.
