Dr. Monica Saavedra is the Director of the Department of Health and Human Services for the Village of Hoffman Estates and a Licensed Clinical Psychologist.  Dr. Saavedra received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology as well as her Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor’s Degree from Loyola University. Dr. Saavedra has worked in community mental health with a specialization in trauma and multicultural counseling.  She currently co-facilitates the Multicultural Counseling and Community Psychology Seminar for the training program at HHS as well as provides supervision for Interns and Practicum Externs.  Her clinical interests include grief and loss, couples work, trauma, exploration of diverse aspects of identity, Sandtray therapy and Play therapy.
