Hometown Heroes are residents of Hoffman Estates who are service men and women currently deployed in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Kyle MirochnaU.S. Army Pfc. Kyle Mirochna

Kyle is a Combat Engineer in the U.S. Army's 92nd Engineer Battalion; 530th Engineer Company (Route Clearance). He enlisted in February 2010, and is currently deployed to Afghanistan, Kandahar Province, for 12 months. His homecoming is anticipated to be spring of 2012. A resident of Hoffman Estates since 1992, Kyle attended Enders-Salk Elementary School, Helen Keller Junior High School, and graduated from Schaumburg High School in June 2008. He is brother to Nora, a 2010 Schaumburg High School graduate. On Dec. 28, 2010, Kyle married Alyssa Caldwell.

Peter HoneycuttU.S. Army Pfc. Peter J. Honeycutt

Serving in the U.S. Army's 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry (3-21), 1-25 Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT), Peter is currently deployed to Afghanistan for one year. Peter is a resident of the north side of Hoffman Estates.

  • Name and photograph (in uniform) of person deployed
  • Branch of service and unit
  • Location of deployment (if possible)
  • Anticipated length of deployment or anticipated homecoming date (if possible)
