The Village of Hoffman Estates is a SolSmart Bronze community. SolSmart is a national designation program that recognizes communities that reduce local barriers to solar energy. Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy SunShot Initiative, SolSmart helps local governments reduce barriers to solar energy in communities to make it simpler for homes and businesses to go solar.
