Residential Lock Box Program 

When the Hoffman Estates Fire Department arrives at your home, time is wasted trying to get into the home. In case of medical emergencies, every second counts. This is where the Residential Lock Box Program comes into play.

The lockbox program provides a secure way for fire department personnel to enter a home when called to provide emergency assistance. Using a lockbox, a resident provides a spare key for fire and EMS personnel to use when responding to a medical emergency, savings time and also costly property repairs if emergency responders must force their way into the home.

Only the Hoffman Estates Fire Department has access to lockbox keys. If an emergency occurs, responders are notified of the lockbox and can gain entry into the home to provide care and assistance.

To request a lock box for your home, please come to the Fire Administration department at Village Hall.

Commercial Lock Box Program

Chapter 11 of the Hoffman Estates Municipal Code requires all commercial structures, within the village, to install and maintain a lock box for use by the Hoffman Estates Fire Department in case of an emergency. The only authorized lock box that is allowed and accessible by the Hoffman Estates Fire Department can be purchased through the Hoffman Estates Fire Administration located at Village Hall. Rest assured that the Hoffman Estates Fire Department maintains the only key to access the lock box.
