Pace Hoffman Estates "On Demand" Bus Service
Have You Tried the New Pace “On Demand” Bus Service?
Hoffman Estates On Demand is a new bus service offered by Pace covering a large portion of the Village south of the Illinois Tollway. Pace operates this service on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. On Demand, formerly known as Call-a-Ride, works on a reservation basis and provides curb-to-curb trips within the service area including the new Barrington Road transit station on I-90. However, unlike most Dial-a-Ride services, On Demand is available to the general public. This means you do not have to meet any qualifications to use On Demand. In addition, all the Pace vehicles are wheelchair accessible. PACE Hoffman Estates On Demand Brochure
Rides can be reserved by calling 224-323-2998 or by visiting www.pacebus.com/OnDemand. Reservations can be made as little as one hour in advance as well as up to one day ahead of time. The fare is $2.00 per one-way trip when using your Ventra card or $2.25 cash using exact change. Please give On Demand a try to see how it can help with your travel needs.
Pace Park-n-Ride & I-90 Bus Service
Pace express bus operations serving the Barrington Road Park-n-Ride / Kiss-n-Ride opened in August 2018. The I-90 express bus expansion provides a connection from the Barrington Road station on I-90 to the Rosemont River Road CTA station as well as the Northwest Transportation Center in Schaumburg. From Rosemont, riders are able to transfer to the CTA for trips towards downtown Chicago or to O'Hare Airport.
A new Park-n-Ride lot on the north side of the Tollway, just east of Barrington Road, provides free parking for Pace riders. Pedestrian ways under the Tollway ramps, along with the new pedestrian overpass of I-90, offer access to the I-90 bus station. From there, express buses on Routes 603, 605, and 610 travel to and from the CTA Blue Line station in Rosemont for connections to O’Hare and downtown via the CTA. Another, Route 607, connects to the Northwest Transportation Center in Schaumburg. To the west, these routes travel to the Elgin Transportation Center (Route 603), Randall Road Park-n-Ride (Routes 605, 607), and Prairie Stone Business Park (Route 610). Details on schedules and route maps can be found on Pace's website by entering a number in the Route Finder box on the left side of the page.
Construction of the Kiss-n-Ride drop-off / pick-up area on the south side of the Tollway, just off Pembroke Avenue, is still underway. Pace has installed temporary bus stops on Pembroke Avenue where a new path leads to the pedestrian overpass building on I-90. When Pace completes the Kiss-n-Ride, these temporary stops will be removed.
In addition to the services along I-90, Pace has also started a new circulator bus, Route 612, south of the Tollway to link to the new transit stops. The defined route operates during weekday rush hours. See the link below for additional route information:
