Approved Development Projects
The following development projects have been approved by the Village Board and are at varying stages of permitting or construction
The Winston Knolls School Outdoor Playground
The Winston Knolls School located at 2353 Hassell Rd, has received approval to construct a new outdoor playground. The park will be located west of the existing school parking lot. The park will be approximately 2,800 square feet and will landscaped on all four sides including a fence. The park will be specifically designed with play structures for special needs children with motion sensors, and other capabilities._____________________________________________________________________________
BMO Harris Bank Redevelopment
BMO Harris Bank at the corner of Higgins Rd & Gannon Dr will be demoed and redeveloped with a more modern design building. The new building will be approximately 4,700 square feet bank with dual drive thru ATM kiosks. The new bank will include façade materials of high quality face brick, composite prefinished metal panels and the front of the building will include a combination of clear vision and spandrel glass with glazing.
New Multi Tenant Retail Building
The former Clark Gas Station will get a fresh look with a new multi-tenant retail building. The building will consist a combination of red and gray brick on the façade with stone veneers. The multi-tenant strip center will have access from both Golf and Barrington Roads.________________________________________________________________________________
Greenspoint Office Park
Greenspoint Office Park will be upgrading their landscaping and make other outdoor improvements near their detention pond area by providing a walking path, outdoor seating area, pergolas and new lighting. The proposed improvements will supplement the exterior of the office park and provide their employees with a fresh look of new amenities to enjoy.
Hoffman Plaza - New Retail Buiding
Additional development is underway in the Hoffman Plaza Shopping Center. After the successful completion of the newly opened Burlington Store, the Village has approved plans for a new multi-tenant retail building on the existing pad in the Shopping Center. The propose building will be approximately 4,500 sq. ft. and will be improved with adequate landscaping around the site. The exterior of the building will include a combination of brick, block, glass & EIFS along with canopies. Overall the design of the building
will complement the shopping plaza and be consistent with
other buildings within the vicinity.
Plans have been approved for the remodel of Buona Beef restaurant in the Barrington square town center. The current restaurant will be demolished and a new restaurant will be constructed immediate adjacent to the existing one with a fresh new contemporary look. The new restaurant will have brick on all four elevations with some barn wood and metal awnings. The project also includes a dual drive-through for quick orders.__________________________________________________________________________________
Plans have been approved for the new north american headquarters for Bystronic. The new 163,000 square foot "Experience Center" will feature office, manufacturing, warehouse, and showroom for industrial products.The building design features prefabricated concrete panels, prefabricated steel panels that Bystronic will manufacture themselves and glass. Bystronic is a world class manufacturer of high quality machines and systems for the economical processing of sheet metal and other flat materials and solutions for laser cutting, bending, and automation.
ALDI - NOW OPEN
Site plan changes and a master sign plan has been approved by the Village for Aldi supermarket at 375 W Higgins Rd. The project will include expanding the store to the north and putting a new facade on the building. The expansion would be approximately 3,300 square feet, bringing the total square footage of the store to 18,455. The building expansion will necessitate parking lot changes as well.
Holiday Inn Express
The Village has approved the construction of a 121-room Holiday Inn Express hotel immediately south of the Cabela's store in the Prairie Stone Business Park. The new hotel will be approximately 70,000 sq.ft. The hotel will include a pool, a breakfast area, fitness center and meeting room space. The building is proposed to be a combination of brick, stone veneer, and EIFS. The hotel will also serve 131 parking spaces. ______________________________________________________________________________________
Rickey Rockets (Golf and Barrington Rd)
The Village has approved site plans to demolish and redevelop the existing Shell Gas Station and Car Wash into a Ricky Rockets Fuel Center and Car Wash, plus an additional retail unit, similar to the facility at Barrington and Hassell Roads. The plan indicates the existing two buildings (total of 5,720 square feet) would be replaced with one, larger approximately 10,400 square foot building and several additional parking spaces would be added. The building architecture would be brick and glass, with additional architectural features that are very similar to the existing Ricky Rockets.
