Poplar Creek at 59-90 is an Entertainment, Dining, and Shopping District at the intersection of I-90 (Jane Addams Tollway) and Illinois Route 59. The Sears Centre Arena, Cabela's, Poplar-Prairie Crossing Shopping Center, The Arboretum, Main Event Entertainment, Duluth Trading Company and the Chicago Marriott Northwest are gathering places for friends, families and residents. The area also now includes the Hideaway Brew Garden and Bar. The Hideaway is an outdoor beer garden at the Village Green, open Wednesday through Sunday from 4-10 p.m. and featuring a wide menu of foods and craft beers. See their website for more information.
The name Poplar Creek references the popular outdoor music theater at this location in the 1970’s — a successful entertainment venue that lives on in the memory of a generation of music lovers. This atmosphere exists again today and the name was adopted as part of the new identity for an even more robust entertainment area — Poplar Creek at 59-90, the Entertainment Crossroads. Poplar Creek at 59-90 features many of the most exciting stores and restaurants in Chicago’s northwest suburbs.
