Firefighter's Pension Fund

The five-member Board of Trustees handles the administration portion of the fund and includes two members appointed by City Council to three-year terms, as well as two active fire department members and one current beneficiary of the Firefighter's Pension Fund who are elected by their peers to serve three-year terms.

Assets are managed by the Firefighters Pension Investment Fund. FPIF was created in 2019 by Illinois Public Act 101-610 and began its operation in 2020.  FPIF is governed by a nine-member Board of Trustees that is made up of four active firefighters, one retired firefighter and four representatives of employers.
The Hoffman Estates Board meets quarterly to discuss the assets of the fund, accept members into the fund and to approve regular and disability pensions.
