Final day for electronics recycling drop-off is Nov. 25
With winter on its way, the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County’s (SWANCC) large Electronics Recycling Drop-off Program at Hoffman Estates Village Hall will end for the season on Monday, Nov. 25. This free program is open to residents of all SWANCC member communities. Simply drop off electronic items at the Village Hall, 1900 Hassell Road (follow the signs), on Monday, Nov. 25, from 10 a.m. to noon. The program runs from April through November each year.
Year-round large electronics recycling is available to SWANCC residents on Saturdays at the Glenview Transfer Station, 1151 N. River Road in Des Plaines, between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
Visit www.swancc.org for a full list of items accepted for recycling, including TVs, computers (PCs and laptops) and computer components (monitors, keyboards, mouse devices, drives, etc.), DVD players, fax machines, MP3 players, printers, scanners, VHS players, and videogame consoles.
Small electronics (cell phones, laptops, cameras, etc.) and rechargeable batteries can always be recycled by using the drop boxes in the Village Hall lobby during normal business hours. These items are recycled through the Village’s partnership with non-profit organization Recycling Avenue. For additional electronics recycling options, visit www.hoffmanestates.org/green.
