Multi-state recall issued for cut melon

Post Date:06/15/2018 3:33 PM
The Illinois Department of Public Health has issued a recall of certain types of pre-cut melon due to a multi-state outbreak of salmonella. Included in the recall was melon sold at Walgreens stores located in Hoffman Estates. The Village's health department has removed the recalled melon from shelves as of 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 15. Customers who may have purchased melon from these Walgreens locations before this time should not consume the melon; it can be returned to the point of sale for a refund. The recall includes many types of cut melon sold at a variety of retailers. For information on the full extent of the recall, please visit the Illinois Department of Public Health online at http://dph.illinois.gov/.
