The Village Board passed an ordinance to create the Taxi Discount Program in late 2007. All you need to do is review the eligibility criteria and fill out a simple application to register for the program. And there is no fee to sign up.
The Taxi Discount Program is designed to serve senior, disabled, and low income residents. It helps to make travel by taxi more affordable to destinations not served by other transit options or during times when these other services do not operate. Eligible residents can receive up to 10 coupons per month, each valued at $5. Each ride must begin or end in the Village.
Please click here to download an application with instructions and eligibility criteria. Applications and supporting documentation may be dropped off at Transportation and Engineering Division or Health and Human Services Department at Village Hall or mailed to the address on the application form. Once your application is approved, the Village will issue a Taxi Discount Program photo ID card. You can contact the Transportation and Engineering to set up a time to have your photo taken and ID card issued.
If you need additional coupons and are eligible to receive them, you may stop by the Village Hall or call the Transportation and Engineering Division (847 252-5800) to have them mailed to you. Remember, you can receive up to 10 coupons per month.
