Special brush & branch pickup began December 3
As a result of the late November snowfall and widespread tree damage, the Village of Hoffman Estates is conducting a special brush pickup program beginning on Monday, December 3. All Village residents should place branches and tree debris on the parkway and accessible for crews to pick up by 7:00 a.m. the morning of Monday, December 3. Crews will be retrieving brush and will make one pass down each street. There is no specific schedule, since this will depend on the volume of material to be picked up; therefore, December 3 is the beginning date for all areas.
Tree debris must meet the usual standards to be picked up:
- Face the cut ends toward the street.
- Do not tie branches in bundles or place in any container.
- Do not allow branches to protrude into the street or block sidewalks.
Given the amount of debris and the difficulty with the snow, it may take two weeks or more to service all streets within the Village. Please contact the Public Works Department at (847)490-6800 with any questions.
Accepted Items: Tree Branches • Shrub Trimmings • Similar Brush • Willow Tree Branches
Tree branches should not be larger than 8” in diameter or 10’ in length. Willow tree branches must be separate from other material.
Items Not Accepted: Stumps • Root Balls • Firewood • Landscape Timber • Lumber • Fence Posts
These items may be disposed of during garbage collection.
