Register today for Citizen Fire Academy - starts August 29!

Post Date:08/13/2018 1:00 PM
Does the thought of scaling a 100 foot ladder excite you? Would you like to use the “Jaws of Life” to cut a patient out of a car, and does the prospect of leading a fire company into a burning building get your pulse racing? If so, then the Hoffman Estates Fire Department would like to invite you to participate in our 19th annual Citizen Fire Academy.

The Citizen Fire Academy is an opportunity for residents of the Village learn about the inner workings of their fire department. Not only will you get the chance to participate in the exciting opportunities listed above, but you will also learn valuable lessons regarding home fire safety, CPR, and the history of the Hoffman Estates Fire Department in a fun, relaxed environment. You must be over the age of 18 to participate, and you must live or work in the Village to qualify.

Classes meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm at Station 24, located at 5775 Beacon Point Drive. The Academy starts on August 29, 2018, and runs through November 19, 2018.

If you are ready to begin your firefighting adventure, or if you have further questions, contact Tony Butler, Lieutenant/Paramedic of the Hoffman Estates Fire Department, at 847-843-4825 or anthony.butler@hoffmanestates.org.
