Electronics recycling program ends Nov. 21
With winter coming soon, the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County's (SWANCC) large Electronics Recycling Drop-off Program will end for the season on Monday, Nov. 21. You still have two opportunities to drop off old computers (PCs and laptops), computer components (monitors, keyboards, mouse devices, drives, etc.), TVs, DVD players, VHS players, fax machines, MP3 players, printers, scanners and video game consoles. This free program is open to all SWANCC-member communities. Simply drop off your items at the Village Hall, 1900 Hassell Road (follow the signs), on Monday, Nov. 14, and Monday, Nov. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon, only. Visit www.swancc.org for a full list of acceptable items.
After Nov. 21, larger electronics recycling will be available on Saturdays at the Glenview Transfer Station, 1151 N. River Road in Des Plaines, between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Also, small electronics (cell phones, laptops, cameras, etc.) can always be recycled in the Village Hall lobby during normal business hours through Recycling Avenue.
