Veterans Day Ceremony
On Friday, November 11, the Village of Hoffman Estates Veterans' Memorial Commission invites the community to join them for the Village's annual Veterans Day Ceremony.
Veterans Day is a day to thank and honor all those who served honorably in the military, both in wartime and peacetime. In fact, Veterans Day is intended to thank living veterans for their service, to acknowledge that their contributions to our national security are appreciated and to underscore the fact that all those who served – not only those who died – have sacrificed and done their duty.
Hoffman Estates Mayor William D. McLeod will give the keynote address. Veterans' Memorial Commission Chairman Les Montag will then speak, followed by a moment of silence at 11 a.m. A closing invocation will be offered by Reverend Alan Eaton, chaplain of the Hoffman Estates Police Department. Light refreshments will then be served inside the Police Department.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial site located at the Police Department building, 411 W. Higgins Road.
