Get to know Prairie Stone Crossing Shopping Center
Located at the northwest corner of the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) and Route 59 (just south of Higgins Road), Prairie Stone Crossing was built in 2008 to add more retail offerings for residents in the western portion of Hoffman Estates, while also bringing new restaurant options to patrons of the Poplar Creek at 59-90 (www.59-90.com) entertainment district. The center was bought in the summer of 2014 by Pine Tree Commercial Realty – who also bought the Poplar Creek center adjacent – with the goal of being more active in the community by providing free events for families and shoppers of all ages. More information on their events can be found at www.poplarprairie.com.
Nearby developments: Along with new tenants slated for the shopping center, Prairie Stone Crossing is also getting some new neighbors. A new Culver's and Mobil gas station are under construction on the south side of Hoffman Boulevard. These will be the first fast food and gas station businesses on the west side of Hoffman Estates. A nearly completed three-unit building, featuring a drive-thru Starbucks, Firehouse Subs and Mattress Firm, will also soon open to the north of the site. See the Village website for more details on both of these projects.
Who's there: Prairie Stone Crossing is anchored by a 42,000-sqaure-foot Sports Authority, and features several retailers and restaurants. The center is 92 percent occupied, and there is a .3 acre pad remaining for development.
