Take Charge of Your Health wellness workshop returns
The Hoffman Estates Department of Health and Human Services will be offering a free six-week workshop for older adults who have chronic health conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, arthritis, hypertension, or heart disease, or those who live with someone who has a chronic health condition. Class participants learn to use a variety of self-management tools to help them take charge of their health.
The Stanford University-developed program “Take Charge of Your Health” covers a wide variety of topics, including physical activity, sleep, weight management, and relaxation techniques. Class facilitators Catherine Dagian RN, from the Village of Hoffman Estates Health and Human Services, and Valerie Wilson have been trained to conduct this program.
The next session will be held at the Hoffman Estates Branch Library on Fridays from September 25—October 30, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
To register, call 847-923-3347 or online at www.schaumburglibrary.org. If you have questions about the program, call Health and Human Services at 847-781-4850.
