Northwest Fourth-Fest Celebration is July 1-5
The Village of Hoffman Estates, along with Hanover Township and the Hoffman Estates Park District, are proud to host this year’s “Northwest Fourth-Fest.” The Fest is the suburbs’ biggest Fourth of July celebration!
The Northwest Fourth-Fest begins outside the Sears Centre Arena, 5333 Prairie Stone Parkway, with two days of carnival fun, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, and Thursday, July 2.
On Friday, July 3, the carnival with food and beverage begins at 6 p.m. and bands Sonic 7 and 7th Heaven, will play at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
On Saturday, July 4, Independence Day will host a variety of entertainment including Brock & Abrams, The Fortunate Sons, and Infinity. There will also be interactive events including pony rides (sponsored by Schaumburg Township District Library), a diaper derby, Boy Scouts skills exhibits, bags tournament, a pie eating contest (sponsored by Mariano's), face painting, balloon animals, a climbing wall and more! The evening will end with a spectacular fireworks show – the largest in the region – at 9:30 p.m. The venue provides traffic control, free parking (9,000 spaces now available) and routes in and out of the grounds to provide for a convenient celebration.
Sunday, July 5 has been designated “Family Fun Day”, where families will find a zip-line, animal exhibit, pony rides, a roaming magician, and rubber chicken toss and water balloon toss contests. Excellent family entertainment includes a performance by the Hoffman Stars Dance Company at 12:00 p.m., a family-friendly rock n’ roll show put on by Ralph’s World at 2 p.m. and the ever-popular Jesse White Tumblers will perform at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. After a 4:30 p.m. concert by Exit 147, the Fest concludes on Sunday at 6 p.m.
New to the Northwest Fourth-Fest is a Golf Ball Drop Raffle on Sunday, July 5. For $10 a ball, participants have a chance to win 20 percent of the total entry fees collected. The balance of the proceeds will be used to purchase safety equipment for Hoffman Estates firefighters. Participants can purchase golf balls online at www.hoffmanestates.org, at Village Hall, or at the festival from 6:00 p.m. on Friday until 1 p.m. on Sunday. At 3:00 p.m., the Hoffman Estates aerial ladder truck will be raised to the sky and all of the numbered golf balls purchased will be dropped onto a temporary green. The ball(s) in the hole or closest to it wins.
