Free summit on employment
The Northwest Suburban Special Education Organization (NSSEO) and the Village of Hoffman Estates Commission for Disabled Citizens will host a Transition Summit addressing topics related to employment for young adults with developmental disabilities.
This free event will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Hoffman Estates Village Hall, 1900 Hassell Road.
Speakers include Laura Owens, presenting “Transition and Employment First: Raising Expectations” and Wendy Partridge, presenting “Social Security Work Incentives -- SSI/SSDI, PASS Plans and More”. A panel discussion of successful employment models, including self-employment, small business and customized employment will also be presented.
Families, educators, service providers and community members are welcome, however registration is required by April 5, 2015. Continuing education and professional development units will be offered.
