Newspapers covering Hoffman Estates:
Northwest Celtic Fest 2015
The word “Celtic” is often used to describe people of Brittany, Cornwall, Ireland, Isle of Man, Scotland and Wales, as well as their respective cultures and languages.
During Celtic Fest, the Village invites guests to enjoy a full day of games, music, crafts, food, and laughter. The concourse stage will be back with live music as well as some of the area’s most talented Scottish and Irish dancers. Several additions to the festival for 2015 include a greater selection of live entertainment as well as an expansion of the marketplace with new vendors to enhance the celebration.
“This event appeals to a wide range of guests thanks to the wonderful array of family-friendly events,” said Mayor William D. McLeod. “Last year’s Celtic Fest was very successful, and we plan to build on its success with an even better and joyous festival.”
The community is bursting out of the cold and into spring by celebrating its Celtic heritage, and everyone is invited to come and enjoy this community event.
The festival will feature a variety of Celtic music and dance. From Irish dancers to bagpipers performing many different Irish favorites. Celtic Fest will showcase some of the best live Celtic entertainment in the Chicagoland area such as the Academy of Irish Dancers, Baa Time, Dustbunnies, Mulligan Stew, Rebecca McCarthy School of Irish Dance, Thistle and Heather Irish Dance, and bagpipers.
The Sears Centre Arena is located at 5333 Prairie Stone Parkway in the “Poplar Creek at 59/90” Entertainment District in western Hoffman Estates. For a complete schedule of events and the latest festival updates, visit www.hoffmanestates.org/celtic, or call 847-781-2606. We hope to see you there!
